Customer
Service in Jeddah
Written by: Shaheerah Mahmoud, Customer Service
Manager
In terms of our services and professionalism, we are as
successful as our customers perceive us to be. Therefore, as
a customer oriented organization, ‘Keeping Customers First’
is our daily mantra. Since the start of our business in
Saudi Arabia, we have earned the trust and confidence of
many valuable clients – clients that have been working with
us for years now. We have achieved successful client service
over the years by following some basic customer service
principles.
One of the most important things is to consider the
customer’s problem our own. Our client base encompasses
nearly all the industries in Saudi Arabia and abroad, and we
consider their gains are losses are our own. We often work
with customers as their Logistics Consultants. We offer a
unique combination of logistics products and supply chain
models that DB Schenker has been developing over the past
130 years.
We are delighted when a client ends a call by saying,
“Thanks a lot and we appreciate your efforts.” In the
customer services department, these words mean a lot.
Our customer Services department in Jeddah is comprised of
five women: four of whom handle import and export clients
while one handles filing and invoicing. One of the most
important tools that we use is the T&T report, which we
maintain for nearly all of our customers. This report
provides our customers with up to date and easy to use
information about their shipments. All necessary status
updates are shown in one overview.
Our motto is “Give the best and most reliable logistics
services to our valued customers.” And we always make sure
that our actions reflect our motto.
Give us an opportunity to serve you!

DB SCHENKER Global News
DB Schenker
leads Romanian market with Romtrans

Comprehensive transportation and logistics network in
Romania • systematic expansion in growth market of southeast
Europe
(Vienna,
January 26, 2009) Following the acquisition of Romanian
freight forwarding company S.C. Romtrans S.A., DB Schenker
is now the leading transportation and logistics services
provider in Romania. This has also substantially
strengthened the company’s position in the growth market of
southeast Europe. In December 2008, the DB Schenker
subsidiary Schenker & Co AG, Vienna, took over more than 99
percent of the Romtrans shares, after the competition
authorities in Romania, Germany, Austria and Hungary had
given the necessary approval.
“On taking over Romtrans, DB Schenker has acquired a top
player in the Romanian transportation and logistics sector.
Even in this difficult economic climate, Romania remains one
of the fastest growing economic regions in the European
Union and thus a priority market for DB Schenker, as our
international customers are increasingly producing in
Romania and the neighboring countries. This expanded network
and the new locations are the optimum answer to our
customers’ demands for international coverage,“ said DB
Schenker’s Dr. Norbert Bensel, Member of the Management
Board of DB Mobility Logistics AG responsible for
Transportation and Logistics.
“Romtrans
is the ideal addition to the DB Schenker network. With the
new Romtrans structure under our corporate umbrella we can
now offer full market coverage in Romania, with a
close-meshed network not only in land transport, but also
for air and ocean freight. The purchase of Romtrans will
also benefit our rail activities in Romania,“ added Elmar
Wieland, Chairman of Schenker & Co AG. To date, DB Schenker
has been represented in Romania by its national company
Schenker s.r.l., with 145 employees working in Bucharest,
Arad, Cluj and Constanza. As from now, the approx. 1500
Romtrans employees in the nine Romanian branch offices and
sales companies in several European countries also belong to
the worldwide DB Schenker network.
Owing to the necessary formalities that still have to be
completed, S.C. Romtrans S.A. and Schenker s.r.l. will
continue to operate as legally independent companies in
Romania for the time being, but will already cooperate on
the basis of joint processes. During the course of 2009, the
amalgamation of the two companies in Romania will lead to
one joint firm, which will in future be managed by Albin
Budinsky, Valerio Dascalu and Peter Rausch.
